Michael Ray Jackson age 58 passed away on Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Mike was born October 23, 1949 in Jacksonville, Texas to Robert Lemuel Jackson and Winifred (Maxwell) Jackson. He graduated from John Tyler High School in Tyler, Texas and attended Tyler Junior College studying Criminal Justice. Mike enlisted into the United States Navy and also was in the Naval Reserve in Bainbridge, Maryland. He married Freda Kay Waits on September 4, 1999 in Morris, Oklahoma. They moved to Glenpool coming from Dallas, Texas in 1999. Most recently they resided in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Mike attended Faith Church and was of Freewill Baptist faith. Mike was a dock worker employed by Conway Transportation Company.
Mike like to hunt and fish. He was an avid bass fisherman. He loved to watch bass fishing on television along with hunting and rodeo. Mike also liked to read his bible.
Mr. Jackson was preceded in death by his father: Robert L. Jackson and a daughter: Holly Jackson. He is survived by his wife: Freda Kay Jackson of Tulsa; his mother: Winifred Jackson; his daughters: Kimberly Jackson Mattox, Mandy Jackson and Katie Jackson of Palestine, Texas; his brothers: Reverend Dan Jackson and his wife, Cindy of Irving, Texas; Gary Jackson and his wife, Sharon Jackson of Tyler, Texas; sister: Charlotte Thrasher and husband, Randy of Whitehouse, Texas along with four grandchildren.
A military graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 30, 2008 at Tyler Memorial Cemetery in Tyler, Texas.
Honorary pallbearers are: Steve Lucas, Kurt Jackson, Steve Jeter, Eric Rankins, Derrick Rankins and Jackie Rankins.
