Michael Ray Barnes

A Celebration of Life will be held honoring and remembering the life of Michael Ray Barnes on Friday, July 20, 2018 at 1 PM at GUTS Church, Tulsa, Oklahoma, with Pastor Bill Scheer officiating. Michael passed away on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 with his family by his side. He was 51.

Michael was born on November 16, 1966 in Bristow, Oklahoma. He was the son of Barbara June (Rose) Mattingly and Russell Barnes.

He was a graduate from Broken Arrow High School.

On August 8, 1984, Michael married the love of his life, Dana Denise (Smith) Barnes in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

He loved his job as a Project Manager for Petroleum Marketers.

Michaels core was his family. He loved spending time with them, especially coaching his boys football and baseball teams. Doing things together as a family was important to him. He also enjoyed spending his time at the lake fishing. Michaels motto in life was "work hard, play hard'.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Barbara June (Rose) Mattingly; sister, Victoria Barnes; brothers, Rust Barnes and Quinten Barnes and his grandfather, Russell (Pop) Barnes.

Survivors include his loving wife, Dana Denise (Smith) Barnes; four sons, Drew (Taylor) Barnes, Dillon (Hannah Moore) Barnes, Drake (Rosie) Barnes, and Dalton Barnes; three grandsons, Bo, Cole and Zeke Barnes; one granddaughter, Zoey Barnes; and his father, Russell (Linda) Barnes, II. He also leaves one brother, Russell Barnes, III; grandmother, Janie Barnes; three aunts, Sande (Ben) McAdams, Joyce (Mel) Zaviska and Virginia Wollaston; two uncles, Bob (Earlene) Barnes and Jim (Misty) Barnes and many nieces, nephews and cousins that were very special to him.
