Michael Lee Latty, 61 years old, born in Tulsa on March 1, 1955, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 17, 2016, at home with his family and beloved dog Holly by his side. Mike will always be remembered for his dry sense of humor.
He started his career in computers at Blue Cross and Blue Shield where he met his future wife Betty. After leaving BC/BS he went on to work for Hilti and travelled frequently to their home office in Denmark. Mike maintained close ties with several co-workers throughout the years. He started his own computer consulting company in 1999, where he installed and maintained the hardware and software for dental offices in Tulsa and surrounding cities. Mike felt like the employees of each office were family and if you had a sick spouse he was always sure to ask how they were doing and offer a prayer. He would often rebuild a computer for a student, bring home a laptop and reload it for a friend, tutor a college student, always refusing compensation. He loved playing on any kind of heavy machinery, tractor, dozer you name it.
Mike was a huge Star Trek fan and loved the Marvel TV series. His favorite band was the Doors and he loved to play his music loud. He also played the piano very well.
Mike was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Latty; mother, Betty Latty; and sister, Sandra Woods. He is survived by his wife, Betty (Charboneau) Latty and by his children: Teresa Ivie and her husband, Dean of Mannford; Jeremy Charboneau of Wagoner; Micah Latty of Tulsa; grandchildren: Matthew Ivie, Jordan Ivie, Chalena Ivie, Nikki Olson, Austin Olson, Summer Charboneau, Caleb Latty, Julian Ivie, Mason Keys; brother, Steven Latty of Tulsa; and half-sister, Lynn Gruber of Westport, Oklahoma, along with a host of cousins and relatives.
Please join Mike's family in a memorial service on Thursday, December 22, 2016, at 6:00pm, at the Christ Church of Owasso, 13807 East 96th Street North, Owasso, Oklahoma. Bring a covered dish and stay for fellowship after the services.
