Mia Hilton Birt

October 22, 1930 — September 4, 2021

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of our beautiful Mia Hilton (Blackley) Birt at the age of 90 years. She passed away peacefully with all her family by her side during the evening of Saturday, September 4, 2021, at home in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Mia was born on October 22, 1930, in Edinburgh, Scotland to her parents, Edward Kelley and Janet (McQueen-Brydon) Blackley. In 1964, she married Kenneth Wayne Hilton in Edinburgh, Scotland. In 1996, she married Tony Reginald Birt in Santa Ana, California. Mia was the first Conductress on the double-decker busses in Edinburgh. She was also the youngest Shop Foreman at Ferrantes Wireworks. In California, she attained certification as a CNA with Hoag Hospital, and became a caregiver to Suzanne "Shorty" Short in Laguna Beach. While living in Tulsa, Mia was the Hostess Manager at the Petroleum Club. She worked with international publications at Pennwell Publishing. She became an established masseuse with a local physician's office. Mia never forgot her Scottish roots and worked at Molly Murphy's as the "Scottish Lass"!

Mia is preceded in death by her mother, Janet Blackley; father, Edward Blackley; brother, William Blackley; sister, Margaret Kane; and husband, Tony Birt.

Mia leaves many happy (and hilarious) memories with her family, daughter Jaynie Herger and her husband, Tom Herger; daughter Bettina Hilton; son Kenneth Hilton and his wife, Colleen Hilton; sister Janet Reid; grandson Dustin Hilton; granddaughter Maya Bergman and her husband, Jarrod Bergman; grandson Kenneth Hilton; granddaughter Maggie Herger; grandson Reed Hilton; great granddaughters Ava, Mackenzie, Evelyn and Elise; along with many other close relatives and longtime friends in England, Scotland, Germany, Australia, Canada, and the U.S..

A family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
