Melvin W. Seay age 83 passed away Saturday, January 14, 2012 at his Sapulpa residence surrounded by his loving family members. Melvin was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on September 24, 1928 to Jay Seay and Myrtle (Rogers) Seay. He graduated from Charles Page High School and attended engineering school in Fort Belvoir, Virginia. He served his country in the United States Army for two years and was honorably discharged. He met the love of his life Anne Lantz and they were married June 22, 1957. Melvin worked for thirty years as a Engineering Technician for the Army Corps of Engineers. Melvin was an avid fisherman; he sang with a barbershop chorus; he enjoyed woodworking and gardening plus spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents: Jay and Myrtle Seay; his son, Tracy Seay (1980); his sister, Lillian Ellis and brother, Harold Seay. Melvin is survived by his wife Anne Seay of Sapulpa, his daughter Tricia Demeter and her husband, Johnny of Sapulpa; his son Jeff Seay and his wife, Guylene of Tulsa; his sister, Vi McAlester and her husband, Jim of Sand Springs, his six grandchildren: Jonathan Seay, Brent Seay, Bryan Seay, Elizabeth and her husband, Tyler Bell, Christopher Demeter, Alan Demeter along with other family members and friends. Memorial services are 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 19, 2012 at Schaudt's Funeral Service Chapel, 719 E. 141st Street, Glenpool, Oklahoma. Honorable Lantz McClain will officiate. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to the Sapulpa Historical Museum, 100 E. Lee Street, Sapulpa, Oklahoma 74066 (918 224-4871). Arrangements were entrusted to Daniel C.
