Melanie Ann VanSickle
Melanie Ann (Haas) VanSickle was born to Elsie (Kleeman) Haas and John Haas on September 21, 1945 in Chicago, IL. She passed peacefully from this life on Monday, April 16, 2018 at St. John's Medical Center in Tulsa, OK after her brave fight with cancer.
Melanie was raised in the Chicago area, after completing high school and receiving a B.A. degree she left, the Midwest for California. While living there in the 1960's she did some acting as a stunt woman, modeling, and national television commercials. Melanie met Jim VanSickle in Florida in November of 1987 and by April of 1988 they were married. They shared many happy times together, and although they divorced later, they remained friends until her journey ended. She was always fearless and extremely smart. Melanie spoke three languages: English, Spanish, and French. One of her many passions were horses, and she took great pride in the way she cared for them. She was a Lifetime Member of the American Quarter Horse Association, American Paint Horse Association and Lifetime Charter Member of the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame. She enjoyed traveling to France where she was able to go horseback riding and was able to bicycle through Europe.
She is preceded in death by her parents; Elsie and John Haas.
Melanie is survived by Jim VanSickle; sister, Linda Daniels and her husband, Albro Daniel and many other loving extended family and friends.
A life celebration gathering will take place 4:00 PM -6:00 PM Thursday, April 26, 2018 at Five Oaks Lodge, 528 E. 121st Street S., Jenks, OK 74037.
