Virginia Key passed away Sunday, March 6, 2016 at St. John Medical Center, Tulsa. Virginia was born January 17, 1926 to John Henry and Virgie Mae (Bouquet) Rains in Christie, Ok.
Virginia graduated from Westville High School. She began her career working with the German prisoners at Camp Gruber during WW II and furthered her career with American Airlines in the reservations department. Virginia worked for Lord & Taylor in Dallas and numerous other retail clothing stores. She managed apartments while living in Phoenix. Virginia was very bright and always up to date on current events...especially politics. She always voiced her opinion and loved to travel the world, visiting all over Asia and the Middle East, and Europe Continents, up into her 80's. She was very independent.
Virginia was preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Leslie Key; her parents and her brothers: Clyde Richard Rains, Earl Lester Rains, Albin Herman Rains, and George Kenneth Rains. She is survived by her brother, Johnie Rains and his wife, Mary Jo; nieces and nephews, and numerous family members whom adored her dearly.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 PM, Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at the Schaudt-Teel Funeral Service in Tulsa. A funeral service will be held 10:00 AM, Thursday, March 10, 2016 at the Schaudt-Teel Funeral Service in Tulsa.
