Mary Ruth Slape

Mary Ruth Slape age 85 passed away Friday, September 5, 2014 at Hillcrest South Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Mary was born November 28, 1928 in Braggs, Oklahoma to James Shoemake and Nola (Trantham) Shoemake. She married R. L. Slape on October 14, 1944. Mary was employed as a Department Manager by Dillards Store where she worked for fifteen years. She was a member of The Landing Community Church in Glenpool.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents: James and Nola Shoemake, her brothers: Clarence and Fred and her loving husband, R. L. Slape who she was married to for forty-six wonderful years.

She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Nading and her husband Don of Dahlonega, GA, her daughter, Sandra Winfield and her husband, Paul of Glenpool, her sister, Irene Gilliland of Tulsa, her brother, Dale Shoemake of Muskogee, her sister, Virginia Gilreath and her husband, Jack of Murrieta, CA, her brother, Paul Shoemake and his wife, Barbara of Lodi, CA, her sister in-law Nelda Shoemake of Berryhill, OK along with five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.

A memorial service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 13, 2014 at The Landing Community Church, 596 W. 141st Street, Glenpool, Oklahoma. Pastor Joe Jones will officiate.
