Mary Margaret "Peggy" Whorton age 70 passed away on December 26, 2008 at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Peggy was born March 3, 1938 to Fred Isaac Wilkinson and Mary (Johnson) Wilkinson in Monett, Missouri. She graduated in 1955 from Monett High School. Peggy married Verlin Whorton on November 25, 1955 in Monett, Missouri. She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing crafts; spending time with her loving family members. Peggy was noted for her great peach cobbler. She was a member of River Oaks Christian Church in Jenks, Oklahoma.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents: Fred and Mary Wilkinson.
She is survived by her loving husband: Verlin Whorton of Jenks; her daughter: Michelle Parmiter and her husband, Jeff of Jenks; her son: Patrick Whorton of Phoenix, Arizona; her two grandchildren: Paige and Jace Parimiter of Jenks; three sisters: Polly Jones of Springfield, Missouri; Betty Vigneaux of Springfield, Missouri; Virginia Johnson of Sewickley, Pennsylvania along with many friends and acquaintances.
Pallbearers will be: Don Volkl, Donny Volkl, Sam Clardy, Jerry Vigneaux, Randy Vigneaux and Carl Presley.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 30th at River Oaks Christian Church, Jenks, Oklahoma. Reverend Harold Phillips will officiate. Vocalist are: Mark and Harold Phillips. Interment will be at IOOF Cemetery in Monett, Missouri.
The family requests in lieu of flowers donations be made to the American Lung Association, Tulsa, Oklahoma.
