Mary Lorea Philpot, 95, died on Friday, June 2, 2017 at her home in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born on July 27, 1921 in Clinton, MO to Jesse Clause and Sarah Lillian (Skaggs) Mann. Mary retired from the Internal Revenue System as supervisor after many years. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother.
Mary was very involved in her church for many years. She was the Children’s Nursery Director , working with children was her absolute favorite. She sang in the choir, played the bells; she was always willing to volunteer for anything that was needed by the church. She loved her church and the wonderful people at Spring Valley Baptist Church. She was never forgotten by the folks at Spring Valley. That was very special to her.
Until the age of 90, she volunteered many years at the Veterans hospital. She devoted her time and brought care packages to the veterans. She was given awards by the Veteran’s hospital for her volunteer service. She was a talented lady. She painted many beautiful paintings and also made many ceramics. She enjoyed genealogy, dedicating many hours to researching and traveling to find the information. She was an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).
She put her heart and soul into everything she did. She had a long well lived life, she was blessed all of her life. She was loved by many. She will be greatly missed.
