Mary Jeanne Shipman

Mary Jeanne (Hicks) Shipman, age 56, passed away at her residence in Glenpool, Oklahoma on Saturday, January 31, 2015.

Mary was born October 24, 1958 to William Wagner Hicks and Jojuana Irene (Horn) Hicks in Munich, Germany. She graduated from Denbigh High School in Newport News, Virginia and attended Oklahoma University. She married Gary Shipman in North Carolina in December of 1987. Mary was baptized at Old Post Chapel at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. She had a big heart, and was always a comfort to those around her. She was always available to listen no matter what it was you needed to talk about.

Mary was preceded in death by her mother, Jojuana Hicks, her husband, Gary Shipman (March 2006) and her sister, Elizabeth Anne Holder.

Mary leaves many loving memories with her family; her children, Amber Lee Shipman, Alexander William Shipman, Rachel Michelle Shipman; her father William W. Hicks; her sister Patricia Lynne Stevens and her husband, John; and other family members and friends.

A Memorial Service celebrating Mary’s life will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday February 5, 2014 at Schaudt’s Glenpool Funeral Service Chapel, 719 East 141st Street, Glenpool.
