Mary J Hadler

Mary J. Hadler passed from this life on January 11, 2020, at the young age of 97. She was born on December 30, 1922, in Blair, NE to Herman and Dorrette (Arndt) Struve. She grew up in Philadelphia, PA and Wichita, KS. White attending Wichita University Mary was introduced to her future husband, Harry G. Hadler, by his younger sister, Barbara, who was Mary's friend. After Harry's graduation, he joined the Army during World War II and while in officers' training in Philadelphia they married on January 31, 1943, at the same church Mary had attended as a child. They lived in Oklahoma City for many years when Harry worked as a geologist in the oil and gas business and Mary was a housewife and mother, raising their family. She was a founding member and first president of the Geologists' Wives. She was a Girl Scout leader, loved to play bridge, and as a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, and did many Bible studies. She was a talented pianist, loved crafts and painting, and researched genealogy. She took many trips to Germany to explore family roots for both sides of the family and met new family members. They loved to travel around the U.S. and much of Europe, Bahamas, and Costa Rica. Her family was most important to her, and she found many opportunities to spend time with her four daughters and their families.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Herman, Jr. (Bud) and her husband, Harry, of 55 years. She is survived by her four daughters: Marcia Reeves of Broken Arrow, OK; Janet Miller of Dayton, OH; Sally Ann (Mark) Commentz of Momovia, CA: Becky Hadler of Edmond, OK; grandchildren:: Nicole (Raymond) Friend of Leesburg, OH; Travis Case of Dallas, TX; Mary Beth (Mike) Galvin of Oklahoma City; and Zachary Miller of Fullerton, CA; great-grandchildren Larkin and Griffin Friend of Leesburg, OH; and several cousins, one niece and many nephews and their families.
Visitation will be on Monday, January 20 from 5-8:00pm and the funeral service on Tuesday, January 21 at 1 0:00am at Schaudt' s Tulsa Funeral Home. A private family burial service will be held afterwards in Argonia, KS.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, P.O. Box 414238. Boston, MA 02241 or the charity of your choice.
