Mary Edith Fontenot

Mary Edith Fontenot, daughter of Henry A . and Ida Susan (Wood) Ledgerwood, passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2016 in Tulsa. Mary was born September 13, 1941 in Bristow, Oklahoma.

Mary grew up in Depew and Bristow area, attending Gypsy Schools. She was the oldest daughter of ten siblings. Her brothers and sisters called her "Marie". Mary loved her morning coffee, the color purple, sweets, especially lemon meringue pie and Elvis Presley. She was a loving, most caring and unselfish woman. Mary would give up her last morsel of food to anyone who needed it, she did not need or want for worldly possessions, she only wanted everyone to be taken care of.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers: Ed, Lewis and Robert. She is survived by her children: Gordon Turner of Tulsa; Sherry Anderson and her husband, Willie of Tulsa; Tina Rostron of Sand Springs; Renee Fisher and her husband, Chad of Sand Springs; siblings: Linda Carr of Sand Springs; Sylvia "Sue" Sicking of Oklahoma City; Karen Gardner and her husband, Steve of Sand Springs; James Ledgerwood and his wife, Jean of Davenport; Gerald Ledgerwood and his wife, June of Rainier, WA; Floyd Ledgerwood and his wife, Mary of Blanchard; twelve grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Thursday, December 15, 2016 and a funeral service will be held 10:00 AM, Friday, December 16, 2016 both at Schaudt's Tulsa Funeral Service, 5757 S. Memorial Drive, Tulsa, OK. Burial 1:00 PM, Friday, December 16, 2016 at Bristow Cemetery, Bristow, Ok.
