Mary Dolores Bedingfield

Mary Dolores (O’Toole) Bedingfield, Tulsa resident, passed away with loving family by her side on Wednesday, December 19, 2018, at the age of 81 years. She was born on September 27, 1937 in Renews, Newfoundland to her parents, Thomas and Violet (Lawlor) O'Toole. Dolores was the eldest of 8 children, four sisters and three brothers.

Dolores possessed a life-long commitment to learning. At the age of 16, Dolores won an inaugural scholarship enabling her to attend and graduate from Memorial University with her Bachelor and Master degrees. After being awarded her degrees in Newfoundland, she enrolled in UCLA and earned her second Master degree and ultimately her PHD in 1973. Her love of learning never wavered and in her 50's she decided to enroll in law school. In 1983, she graduated from the University of Tulsa with a Juris Doctor. After retiring from law, Dolores wrote and published a book based in her beloved Newfoundland.

She met the love of her life, James Bedingfield, and they were married on June 16, 1960. In 1976, they started a family business in which she continued to work. Dolores was an avid traveler, gardener, oil painter, and stained-glass artist.

Dolores leaves many loving memories with her family, her loving husband of 58 years, James Bedingfield; daughter, Valery Christmas and husband Shaun; daughter, Siobhan Logan and husband Hollis; grandsons, Logan Christmas and Ted Bearden; as well as many other family members.
