Mary Diane Purdom

Services to honor and celebrate the life of Mary Diane "Dione" Purdom will be 1:00PM Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at the Simple Church, 5900 S Union Ave in Tulsa, Oklahoma. A visitation will be held Monday evening from 5:00 to 8:00PM at Schaudt's Glenpool-Bixby Funeral Service, 1329 E. 151st in Glenpool, Oklahoma. Mary departed this life on January 5, 2023 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, she was 89.

Dione was born on April 30, 1933, in Hoyt, Oklahoma, to Opal and Dee Linton. She was raised alongside two brothers, Jim and Floyd.

In 1953 she married the only love of her life, Trav. They were married 48 years, until Trav passed away. Trav and Dione raised three girls, Debbie, Trina, and Lisa. In addition to that they spent years parenting about 25 less fortunate children in the foster care system, some who stayed until they aged out of the system. During their marriage Dione was able to stay home with the girls where she enjoyed doing crafts, cooking and especially baking. For several years she worked about three months out of the year at Enterprise Studios developing school photos. There was not a moment that she did not excel in her qualities as a Mom and Grandma. She passed on her love of crafting and baking to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, traditions that will live for many years to come.

Dione was preceded in death by her parents, Opal Clessie Linton and Dee Guthrie Linton, her brother James Marion Linton, her brother and sister-in-law Floyd Dean Linton and Shirley Linton, her husband Alvie Travis Purdom, and their daughter Trina Kay Purdom. She is survived by her daughter Debra Lynn Davis and her husband Ricky Dean Davis, her daughter Lisa Ann Wooters and her husband Kevin Vern Wooters; her grandchildren Amanda Laine Howard and her husband Jay Adam Howard, and Nicholas Scott Wooters; her great grandchildren Emma Grace Howard and Evan Garrett Howard; and her nephew James Dee Linton.
