Marvin Don Stoops

Marvin Don Stoops of Mannford, OK, entered eternal rest on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, OK, at the age of 75.

Marvin was born to Laura Mae (Gazaway) Stoops and Don Oliver Stoops in Yale, OK, on June 26, 1946. He met Phyllis Jeane (McCollough) Stoops and when she saw his Goldwing motorcycle, she knew she wanted to get to know him and get a ride on his motorcycle. They married on June 15, 1985, in Mannford, OK, just down the road from where they would reside together, until it was no longer possible for Phyllis to care for Marvin by herself. Marvin was happiest when he was fishing, and it didn't matter to him if he caught several or none at all. He also enjoyed being a volunteer fire fighter with the Freedom Hill Fire Dept. "Uncle Marvin" as he was called by many, will be missed by his loved ones and friends alike.

Preceded in death by his parents; Laura Mae Rider and Don Stoops, sister; Laura Lee, and son; Scott Nuessen.

He is survived by his wife Phyllis, one sister; Helen Harris of Ringold, OK, one brother; Jimmy Lee Rider of Seminole, children; Tammie, Charles, Debbie, and Mark, grandchildren; Kelsey, Tyler, Mark Jr., Josie, Jenna, Jordan, and Jaxson, many nieces, and nephews, along with other friends and family who called him Uncle Marvin.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at Freedom Hill Baptist Church, 9914 S. Hwy 48, Mannford, OK 74044.
