Marvin Danial Jones

Marvin Danial (Dan) Jones age 91, passed away at St. Johns Medical Center on March 9, 2016.
Dan was born in Hemphill County, Texas (Canadian) on March 28, 1924 the fifth child of Mack Donald (Don) Jones and Dellie (Wilson) Jones.

He attended elementary school through the 10th grade in Edinburg, Texas. On May 27, 1943 he graduated from Gatesville Texas High School. He joined the U. S. Navy Reserve and served for 32 months. He was discharged as an Aviation Machinist Mate 3rd Class on January 8, 1946 at Camp Wallace in Houston, Texas. Dan married the love of his life, Edna Lorene Beckman on September 11, 1947.

Before retiring he worked as a maintenance supervisor for Wal-Mart.
Dan and his family moved to Glenpool, Oklahoma in December of 1986. They resided in Arkansas in the following communities: Harman and Springdale (Washington County) and Bentonville (Benton County).
He was predeceased by his parents: Don and Dellie Jones, three brothers, Herman W. Jones of Anchorage, Alaska, J.T. Jones of Bovina, Texas, Ralph (Bob) Jones of Sanford, Florida and one sister, Merle DeVille of Corpus Christi, Texas, his stepson Garland Ray Dalton of St. Louis, Missouri and his wife of 66 years, Edna Lorene Jones of Glenpool, Oklahoma (January 3, 2014).

Dan is survived by his adopted daughter and her husband, Deena Dalton Howeth and Greg of Sapulpa, two great grand sons, Matthew Howeth and his wife Danika of Sapulpa, Michael (Dalton) Howeth and his wife Carlee of Broken Arrow, his great great grandson, Michael Cain Howeth of Broken Arrow, his sister Margie Skinner of Corpus Christi, Texas.

Visitation will be 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM Sunday March 13, 2016 at Schaudt's Glenpool Funeral Service.

Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday March 14, 2016 at Fairmount Cemetery in Hollis, Oklahoma.
