Martin Najera, Jr.

Martin Najera, Jr. passed away Friday, February 19, 2016 at Arbor Village in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. Martin was born May 12, 1932 to Martin and Rosaura (Soto) Najera in Galena Park, Texas. Martin graduated from Webster High School, Tulsa in 1955. He began working as a child shining shoes on streets (his patrons called him "Little Chachi"). Martin entered into the United States Army out of high school receiving an honorable discharge. He dated his wife Jean for 11 days and then they got married which lasted for 44 years.

Martin owned and operated Najera Trash Service, worked at National Tank (later CE Natco) as a welder, then worked for Affiliated Foods where he retired. He also owned a cleaning service for many years along with his wife. After retirement, he went back to Hasco for about 10 years.

Martin was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; a sister; and twin granddaughters, Angelia and Angelica. He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Woods and her husband, Jerry; son, Martin C. Najera and his wife, Missie; grandchildren: Stephanie Anderson; Erick Anderson and fiance Randi; Katelyn Najera; Dakota Najera; great-granddaughter, Victoria Maria Anderson; six brothers and two sisters.

A memorial service will be held 10:00 AM, Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at Schaudt-Teel Funeral Service, Tulsa with military honors following service.
