Marti Grant, born Martha Wright on July 27, 1947, to Jim and Cheryl Wright, was a beacon of love and faith throughout her life. As the eldest of three children, Marti shared a close bond with her siblings, Wendy and Mark, and enjoyed a special relationship with her Uncle Barry, who was just five years her senior. She graduated from Arvada West High School and the University of Denver.
Marti's journey took a significant turn when she met Ray Grant during her college years. They married in 1969 and envisioned a large, loving family. From 1974 to 1984, they fulfilled this dream by adopting four children-two from South Korea and two from India-and also welcomed two biological children of their own. After Ray's passing in 1987, Marti courageously raised their six children on her own while working as a teacher and taking on additional evening jobs. Her unwavering faith in God's provision and her inspiring stories of His faithfulness were a testament to her strength.
Passionate about sports and music, Marti's greatest devotion was to following Jesus and spreading His love. Her long-held dream of mission work was realized later in life, not through overseas travel as initially envisioned, but through her service at a Christian school for Navajo children on the Arizona-New Mexico border. Her mission continued globally, spanning four continents and touching countless lives through short-term mission work. Along the way, Marti embraced many as part of her extended family, offering them the love of a mother and grandmother.
A cherished friend and community member, Marti was deeply beloved in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and more recently in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She passed away on July 31, 2024, at the age of 77, leaving a profound legacy of kindness, generosity, and strength. Marti was predeceased by her brother Mark, her husband Ray Grant, and her parents Jim and Cheryl Wright. She is survived by her children Blair Grant, Collin Grant, Julie Bennett, Taylor Grant, Dolly Regier and Todd Grant, her 21 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, as well as her sister Wendy Logan, and a multitude of other family and friends who will dearly miss her and remember the transformative impact of her life and faith.
