Martha L Gage

Martha Lou Gage of Okmulgee, Oklahoma was born on May 21, 1939 in Mumford, Texas to parents Robert and Emma Cornelia Smith. She passed away at her home on Wednesday, April 20, 2022. She and twin sister Mina Sue were the last of fourteen children.

She married Robert Calvin Gage on November 1, 1956. From this union were born five children. Brenda (Gary) Foreman of Okmulgee, Oklahoma, Robert F. Gage of San Antonio, Texas, Tommy Gage of McKinney, Texas, Deborah Miller of Okmulgee, Oklahoma, and Tammy Wright of Okmulgee, Oklahoma.

Martha was known as Nannie to thirteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren, and numerous other children she met. She enjoyed holidays and cooking for her family. Martha and her close friend and neighbor Jan enjoyed afternoon teas for many years.

She worked for Ben Franklin, CR Anthony, Golden Rule Pawn Shop and Stage when she wasn't traveling with her husband.

Martha is preceded in death by her husband Bob, parents, and siblings. Sadly, she was the last of her immediate family. She was cared for by Sue Ware for years and Kindful Hospice. Her suffering is over, and she will be sorely missed by many.

A graveside service to honor and celebrate the life of Martha will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday April 25, 2022 at Okmulgee Cemetery, Okmulgee, Oklahoma, with Pastor Brandon McCombs officiating. A visitation will be held at Schaudt Okmulgee Funeral Service Chapel on Monday, April 25, 2022 from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM.
