Celebrating the Life of Mark Steven Campbell

July 30, 1961 - January 14, 2025

Mark Steven Campbell, 63, of Jenks, Oklahoma, passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on July 30, 1961, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Mark was the son of Arlen and Loretta, whose love and values shaped the man he became.

Mark grew up in the small town of Ringwood, Oklahoma, where he first discovered his love for hard work and adventure. At the young age of 16, Mark began working in the oil fields, a job that taught him the value of grit and determination. Although he left high school early, his perseverance led him to earn his GED, a reflection of the inner strength that carried him through life's challenges.

In February 1980, at the age of 18, Mark married his first wife, Lori, and they welcomed their son, Chad. Tragically, Chad passed away in a car accident at the age of 18, a loss that deeply shaped Mark's life. Later, Mark found love again with his second wife, Vanda, and together they were blessed with a daughter, Candace, who was the light of his life.

Mark had a heart full of wanderlust and found freedom and peace on the open road. Whether behind the wheel of a truck or escorting oversized loads, he loved exploring new places and meeting new people. His travels were more than just a job-they were his passion. Mark's adventurous spirit also led him to Wyoming in 1979, where he briefly worked in the oil fields before returning to Oklahoma.

Mark had a zest for life and a love for the outdoors. Fishing was one of his favorite pastimes, and he found solace in the quiet moments spent by the water. Despite his adventurous and wild streak in his younger years, Mark's greatest joy came from being with family. He was a devoted father, a loving grandfather, and a caring brother who cherished the bonds he shared with his loved ones.

Mark's courage and resilience were on full display during his 2½-year battle with throat cancer. After enduring extensive treatments of chemotherapy and radiation, he initially achieved remission. However, his cancer returned and spread throughout his body. Mark fought bravely until the very end, demonstrating the same determination that defined his life.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Loretta Kinsey and Arlen Campbell; his beloved son, Chad Campbell; and his niece, Charise Sullivan.

He is survived by his daughter, Candace Campbell of Tulsa, Oklahoma; his grandchildren, Zoe, Rayder, and Remi; his sisters, Sharon Lindsey and husband Kevin of Jenks, Oklahoma, and Shelly Scott of Glenpool, Oklahoma; his nephews, Joe Lindsey, Jeremiah Lindsey, and Ben Sanders; 17 great-nieces and nephews; and numerous extended family members and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
