Mark Alloway Lenard



Mark Alloway Lenard, age 56, passed peacefully on Saturday, April 15, 2017, at his home in Mounds, Oklahoma.

Mark was born on September 1, 1960, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Billy Ray and Wanda Elsie Jean Lenard.

Mark met the love of his life, Sherry in the summer of 1974 at the Sheriff's Possē Rodeo. They remained together and then married on October 23, 1980. She stayed by his side from there on.

Mark worked several jobs, until landing a job with the City of Tulsa, Parks Department. He made wonderful friendships and retired after 25 years of service as a welder.

Mark was extremely loving, caring, and supportive. He never met a stranger. He had a firm handshake and a hug that made you feel safe from the entire world.

Mark was involved in and enjoyed baseball, rodeos, play days, trail rides, golfing, fishing, and gardening. His home and fruit trees were always important to him. He wanted to leave a place knowing his family could live off the land, if needed.

Mark was always thinking of something to do or how to make something better. He believed in true craftsmanship and was proud of his work.

Mark loved his family, dearly and enjoyed being surrounded by them. He was so proud of each of them, especially, his little granddaughter, Piper Mae.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents; Billy Ray Lenard and Wanda Elsie Jean Lenard, along with his grandparents, aunts, and uncles.

Mark is survived by his amazing wife Sherry, daughter; Pam (Ray), son; Chris (Lindsey), his beautiful granddaughter; Piper Mae, brother; Rick (Cresenda), and many other family and friends.

Services are planned for Thursday at 2:00 PM, April 20, 2017, at Schaudt's Family Funeral Service, 719 E. 141st, Glenpool, Oklahoma 74033. Paul Fixico will officiate.
