Mark Allen Calvert

Mark Allen Calvert died Saturday, July 2nd at the age of 64. Mark was born in Jackson, Michigan, on April 4, 1952 to Jack and Patricia Calvert. Mark graduated from Vandercook Lake High School in Jackson, Michigan. Mark married the love of his life, Cathy Sue Caywood on February 20, 1971, and celebrated 40 amazing years of marriage before Cathy's death in May of 2011. Mark loved his job at AEP-PSO as a Senior Systems Analysts for more than 30 years before retiring in 2010. Following his retirement, he spent his days loving on his granddaughters and building and fixing anything he could. He's especially known for his amazing chicken coups. Mark never met a stranger and was the first to help anyone in need. Whether fixing a computer or building a mailbox, Mark could do anything with his hands. He was a true craftsman. Mark is preceded in death by his wife Cathy and both parents. He is survived by his son: Chris Calvert and his wife, Amy of Jenks, Oklahoma, and their two daughters, Avery Grace and Kinsey Catherine, and his son: Jeffrey Calvert of Bixby, Oklahoma. And his sisters: Michele Tuttle of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Melinda Calvert of Jackson, Michigan. His two granddaughters, Avery and Kinsey, were his life! He loved nothing more than being a Papaw, swimming with Avery and buying lots of goodies for his granddaughters. Mark never wanted recognition and was a quiet man, so in lieu of flowers his wish would be donations to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in honor of his sweet granddaughter, Avery Grace Calvert at www.jdrf.org.
