Marjorie A. Wheatcraft, 96, died the morning of Saturday, April 29, 2017 at St. John's Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born November 15, 1920 in Lawton, Oklahoma to the Charles Lester and Lillian (Lewis) Autry. She grew up in Tulsa and graduated from Tulsa Central High School. After high school, she attend beauty school. On July 4, 1941 she married the late, Frank Wheatcraft in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Shortly after their wedding, they moved to California to persue careers in the Aviation Industry. Marjorie was an original "Rosie the Riveter". After the birth of their two children, she became a fulltime housewife. Once the children became of age, she returned to the work force to become the Head Teller for both Sooner Federal Bank and Home Federal Bank. She retired from banking after 35 years in the industry, to return to the duties of a housewife. Marjorie and Frank retired early so they could travel the world. She enjoyed playing the organ and bridge. She is a long time member of Boston Avenue United Methodist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles Lester and Lillian (Lewis) Autry; husband, Frank Wheatcraft; granddaughter, Robyne LeAnn Powell; grandson, Jeff Wheatcraft; and daughter-in-law, Treva L. Wheatcraft.
Survivors include children, DeAnn Ruffin and Jerry Frank Wheatcraft; grandchildren, Rusty Wheatcraft, Randy Ruffin, Kari Helm; 8 great-grandchildren; and 5 great great-grandchildren. She will be missed by all.
