Marites Whiteley, age 53, a resident of Okmulgee passed away Saturday, September 3, 2016 in the Clarehouse of Tulsa with loving family at her bedside. She was born April 27, 1963 to Alejandro and Amelia (Dy) Monteagudo in Albay, Bicol Philippines.
Marites graduated from Mary Immaculate in 1980 and went on to the Far Eastern University where she obtained her Master’s Degree. She traveled the world extensively as an assistant to the CEO of a major Filipino retail company. After becoming an American citizen she worked as an aide with Oxford HealthCare and Mays Plus.
Tes, as Marites was known to family and friends, loved cross stitching, shopping and family gatherings. She made holiday events extra special with meal preparation and socializing. Camping was a favorite past time so long as accommodations were not too primitive.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband Robert Whiteley of the home, daughters Paula San Pedro of Tulsa and Alexandria Elane Whiteley of Wilson; In the Philippines she leaves behind a brother Arnold Monteagudo, sisters Maricel Litimco and Gelenie Cardillo, 2 nieces and 3 nephews and a host of friends that called her family. Tes was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be 9:00 am – 2:00 pm Friday September 9, 2016 at the Schaudt’s Okmulgee Funeral Service Chapel, 220 S. Alabama Avenue, Okmulgee, OK 74447.
