Marilyn Myrtle Smothers

Marilyn Myrtle Cales Smothers of Tulsa, Ok passed away at the age of 91 on August 8th, 2022 in Broken Arrow, Ok. Marilyn was born July 25th, 1931 to Pete and Towana Cales in Paul's Valley, Ok.

She grew up in Ada, Ok where she finished her primary education. In September 1952 she wed her love, W. E. (Bill) Smothers Jr. They had two children W. E.(Bill) lll and Susan. She made a life long career of a wife, mother, and caretaker. During her lifetime she enjoyed gardening and was a member of the Tulsa Garden Club. She was also involved in her children's after school activities. Also one of her joys was going to OSU sporting events with her husband and family. Her biggest passion in life was being with and taking care family, and being a second mother to many of her children's friends.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents Pete and Towana Cales, son Bill lll, and Bill Jr. who passed in March of this year.

She is survived by daughter Susan Counts and husband Phil of Coweta, daughter in law Barbara Smothers of Glenpool, grandchildren Eric Smothers and wife Holly of Oklahoma City, Jeff Smothers and Casey Harper of Bixby, Ashley Wilkins and great grandchildren Jacob and Triston of Broken Arrow. She will be missed dearly and forever in our hearts.
