Marietta Bitting passed away Monday morning, August 3, 2015 at Clarehouse in
Tulsa. She was born June 27, 1944 in Spokane, Washington, the daughter of O.J.
and Nina (Kimball) Brown. Marietta graduated in the Class of 1962 from
Atascadero High School in Atascadero, California. She married Richard Bitting on
August 6, 1966 in Lompoc,CA.
Marietta loved sewing, putting together puzzles, and playing Sudoku. She also
loved all types of flowers and working in her garden. Marietta loved teaching
children's Bible classes and pre-school. She was very devoted to her Christian
faith. She loved spending time with her family. She was a lover of animals and had many pets.
Marietta was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her brother:
Dana Brown. She is survived by her children: Cecilia Carter and husband Eric of Broken Arrow, OK, Debbie Powell and husband Mark of Memphis, TN, and Mike Bitting and wife Wendy-Ann of Houston, TX; Also, her father-in-law, Richard Bitting of West Lake Village, CA; 7 grandchildren; and her sisters: Alice Hunt and husband Richard of Phoenix, AZ and Teresa Brown of Sunland, CA. Also, many nieces and nephews.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Schaudt-Teel Funeral Service and
Cremation Care, 5757 S. Memorial Drive in Tulsa. A Celebration of Life is
scheduled for Saturday, August 8th at 11 a.m. at the Poteau Church of Christ, 20690 S. 292nd Street in Poteau. www.tulsafuneral.com
