A memorial service for Marie Belisle age 89, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, formerly of Oklahoma City, will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday, October 30, 2012, at Christ the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Tulsa. Marie Belisle was born the daughter of Enoch Petrovich and Anna Balonis on September 2, 1923 in Cintralia, Pa. She died on October 25, 2012, in Sapulpa Oklahoma after a brief but brutal battle with cancer. Marie was one of seven children. She graduated from Kulpmont High School in Kulpmont, Pa. Marie was living with a sister in Baltimore where she met her future Husband, Hubert Belisle in a bowling alley. Hubert and Marie were married in New York City, before Hubert shipped out for the Pacific in World War II. Marie worked in the defense industry in Seattle throughout the War. After the War , Hubert and Marie lived in Laurel,Maryland where their only child ,Beverly was born. Soon after Beverly was born, the family moved to the Oklahoma City area where Hubert and Marie had long careers in administration at Tinker Field. Marie was a devoted mother to Beverly. She was an excellent and creative seamstress and made most of her and Beverly's clothes including Beverly's wedding dress. Her creativity was also shown in home decorating and picture painting. She was an active member of the Mid-Del Art Association. She loved watching and participating in sports. She took Beverly roller skating every Sunday. During Beverly's grade school and Jr High years, played softball with a Tinker team, basketball with the Del City PTA. Marie had a bowling average of near 200 well into her 50's. Ping pong and badminton were played frequently with her family. Previously a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Midwest City, she joined Christ the Redeemer Lutheran church in Tulsa where she regularly attended with Sid and Beverly. A private person about her faith, those who knew her well knew it was a big part of her life. She attended Bible Study Fellowship for five years and read devotions and her Bibles, regularly. Marie enjoyed her grandchildren immensely. She again made many of their childhood clothes and decorated them with her painting. Ryan and Adrienne loved to play with their full of fun grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and four of her siblings. Survivors include her daughter Beverly McVey and husband Sidney of Sapulpa, Oklahoma; sisters Loraine and Ann of the Baltimore, MD area; grandson Ryan McVey and his wife Melanie of Castle Pines, Colorado; granddaughter Adrienne McVey of Anchorage, Alaska along with numerous nieces, nephews and other family members. Marie was particularly close to her niece, Carole Frizzell of Sarasota, Florida and up to becoming ill talked to Carole three times per week to help her in the aftermath of her mother's death. Marie was a sparkling lady whose many talents, generosity, energy and outpouring of love will be missed by her family. Memorial Donations can be made to Christ the Redeemer Lutheran Church, 2550 East 71st Tulsa, OK 74136. The donations will be used to beautify the church landscaping, one of Marie's greatest passions.
