Marian Frazier

January 8, 1931 — November 7, 2024

Marian Alice Frazier of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at the remarkable age of 93. Born on January 8, 1931, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, Marian was the beloved daughter of Walter and Bertha (Smalley) Brecht and one of six siblings, sharing her early years with Ruth, Harold, Kathleen, and Walter.

Marian attended school in Sapulpa. A dedicated learner, she later continued her education at New Mexico State, earning her degree around 1968. She taught briefly in Carlsbad, New Mexico, before returning to Oklahoma, where her heart truly lay in the classroom.

Marian met J.V. Frazier and the two shared many years of marriage. Marian spent the majority of her career teaching fourth grade at Sapulpa's Garfield, Lone Star School and Woodlawn, where she made a lasting impact on her students and her community.

Throughout her life, and even in her final years, Marian was determined to live life to its fullest. An independent woman, she was known for her resilience and remained remarkably active until the end. Marian's love for antiquing, knitting, and collecting Native American art reflected her deep appreciation for culture and tradition.

Marian was preceded in death by her husband, J.V. Frazier; her parents, Walter and Bertha Brecht; and her siblings, Ruth, Harold, Kathleen, Craselda, and Walter. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Frazier, as well as a host of extended family members and friends who will forever hold her close in their hearts.
