Marian Boomer Dawson

September 24, 1920 — December 19, 2008

Marian Boomer Dawson went to be with the Lord early Friday morning at the age of 88.
Born to George and Rosella Boomer, Marian was raised in Louisville, Kentucky. After graduating from Stephens College in 1938, she met William Nelson Dawson. The couple married on June 21, 1940, settling in Chicago for the next twelve years. In 1952 Bill moved the family to Tulsa, founding Tyler-Dawson Supply Company. After raising four children, Marian involved herself with a number of Christian charities, including tutoring with Literacy and Evangelism and co-founding Christ for Humanity. She hosted Bible studies twice weekly in her home for more than twenty years.
Marian was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers: George and Owens; her sister: Barbara and her son: Mark LaBree Dawson.
Her great faith, gentle spirit and sense of humor will be missed by her husband of sixty-seven years, William N. Dawson, Sr.; her son: William N. Dawson, Jr.; her daughters: Christina Dawson Rollins and her husband, Mark; Mary Ann Dawson Sutherland and her husband, Philip; grandchildren: Matthew T. Rollins and his wife, Laura; Christopher Blake Rollins, Melinda Rider and her husband, Doug, Karl N. Kriegh and great grandson: Jonah Michael Rollins.
The celebration of Marian's life will be held on Saturday, December 27th at Fellowship Bible Church, 5434 East 91st Street, at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial gifts be made to Christ for Humanity.
