Margie Ann Chalakee

Marjorie “Margie” Ann Chalakee, a resident of Okmulgee, passed away Saturday, March 7, 2015 at the age of 63. She was born May 13, 1951 to Webster and Martha (Bird) Chalakee in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. She was a member of the Belvin Baptist Church in Okmulgee and was very involved in church events and enjoyed singing Creek Hymns. Margie enjoyed going to casinos, playing bingo, making scarves and bead work but most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Webster and Martha Chalakee; brothers, Tom Mix Chalakee, William “Bunky” Chalakee and Billy W. Chalakee; two babies; baby sister, Mary Jane Chalakee and granddaughter, Diamond Coleman.

Survivors include her two children, Jonah Hutke Fleener, Sr. and Gina Fleener both of Okmulgee; adopted daughter, LaDonna Pickup of Okmulgee; sisters, Barbara Davis of Fredericksburg, Virginia, Thelma Chalakee-Harjo of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Virginia Kolakowski of Tulsa, Stella Harjo of Tulsa, Sharon Chalakee and husband, Ray Harjo of Okmulgee and Donna Bear of Lawton; six grandchildren, Jonah Hutke Fleener, Jr, Savanna Mae Fleener, Lillie Nicole Fleener, Aniyah Pickup, Daelyn Pickup and Chrisslyn LeBlanc; plus one grandson on the way; special niece, Wilma Chalakee and numerous other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held Thursday, March 12, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Schaudt’s Okmulgee Funeral Service 220 S. Alabama Ave Okmulgee, Oklahoma 918-756-3300.

Wake Services will be held Thursday, March 12, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. at the Belvin Baptist Church in Okmulgee.

Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 13, 2015 at the Belvin Baptist Church in Okmulgee with Reverend Mitch Taylor officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Salt Creek Cemetery in Wilson.

Pallbearers will be Rayne Harjo, Ryan Harjo, Kelly Harjo, Jeff Chalakee, Jeremy Kolakowski, Dustin Kolakowski, Billy Kolakowski and Mike Jimboy.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Jonah Fleener, Sr., Jonah Fleener, Jr., Eric Shields, Jr., Daelyn Pickup, Corey Pickup, Sr., Corey Pickup, Jr., Thomas Pickup, Dallis Kolakowski, Hayden Kolakowski and Harlan Jimerson.
