Obituary for Margaret Ann McRorey

Margaret Ann McRorey, beloved wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on October 6, 2024, at the age of 65. She was born on October 17, 1959, in Tishomingo, Oklahoma, to William and Phyllis Murphy (Atchley).

A proud graduate of Bethel Acres High School, Margaret furthered her education at Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee. She dedicated many years to her work as a Certified Nursing Assistant, showcasing her compassion and care for others. Margaret had a passion for crafts, creating beautiful dolls and lovingly sewing quilts for each of her nieces and nephews. She cherished her family deeply and played a significant role in raising several of them.

At the age of 42, Margaret met the love of her life, William (Bill) McRorey, and they shared a joyful life together filled with adventures. An avid traveler, she enjoyed camping and fishing, and her heart was happiest during family reunions and get-togethers where she delighted everyone with her favorite desserts.

Margaret is survived by her loving husband Bill; her mother, Phyllis of Lexington, OK; her sisters Lynette Butcher of Pasco, WA, Wanda Mayden of Oklahoma City, OK, Essa and Aaron Smith of Norman, OK, Vida Murphy of Norman, OK, and Dorothy Delaney of Dallas, TX; her brothers Tony and wife Barbara Murphy of Noble, OK, and Rodger and Sherry of Moore, OK; as well as a cherished family of 16 nieces and nephews, 29 great-nieces and nephews, and 10 great-great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, William Murphy, her grandparents, and numerous other family members. Margaret’s warmth, creativity, and love will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.
