Margaret Ann Hill, a devoted homemaker known for her strength and unwavering love for her family, peacefully passed away on Monday, July 24, 2023, at the age of 79 years. She was born on November 17, 1943, in Hanford, California, to her beloved parents, Raymond and Beddie (Howerton) VanZant.
Margaret's life was profoundly touched when she met the love of her life, Roy Hill. They shared a beautiful journey together, from their wedding on September 17, 1962 in Avenal, California to their shared adventures moving from Corcoran, California to Arkansas, and finally settling in Oklahoma, where Roy's family was from.
Throughout her life, Margaret embodied strength and determination. She was a dedicated homemaker, raising five children with love, patience, and care. Her devotion to her family knew no bounds, and her nurturing spirit created a loving home where cherished memories were made.
In her remarkable 58 years of marriage, Margaret and Roy built a life of love and companionship, overcoming challenges hand in hand. Their bond was unbreakable, and they shared a love that served as an inspiration to all who knew them.
Margaret leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories in the hearts of her family, including her sons, Phillip Hill and wife Susan of Glenpool, Oklahoma and Raymond Hill of Glenpool, Oklahoma, daughters; Debra McManus and her husband J.Q. of Glenpool, Oklahoma, Annette Oberlander of Glenpool, Oklahoma, and Shelia Baker and her husband James of Glenpool, Oklahoma, her 11 grandchildren; Travis Hill and wife Christina, Mitchell Baker and wife Brandy, Derek Baker and wife Marisa, Michael Baker and Kira, Sarah Eldridge and husband Jacob, Lindsay Oberlander, Emillie Cain and husband Ben, Elizabeth Oberlander, Amanda Carter and husband Matthew, Melissa Prince and husband Aaron, and Dustin McManus, her 22 great-grandchildren; Kobe, Jayton, Nora, Luke, Vanessa, Tyler, Gabby, Jack, Kenzley, Brantley, Kaden, Kash, Bryar, Keegan, Bailey, Riley, Juliet, Brayden, Braylee, Henry, Cooper, and soon to be baby Cain. She is also survived by her siblings Sherri Pledger, Tommy VanZant, and Nancy Shores, along with many other loving relatives and a host of friends.
A Public Viewing/Visitation to pay respects to Margaret will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, July 27, 2023, at Schaudt's Glenpool-Bixby Funeral Service, located at 1329 East 151st Street South, Glenpool, Oklahoma. The funeral service will take place at the same location on July 28, 2023, at 10:00 AM, with Pastor Jason Yarbrough officiating. Following the funeral service, a graveside service will be held at South Heights Cemetery in Sapulpa, Oklahoma.
