Marcy Lou Ann Rutledge

April 13, 1972 — June 21, 2023

Marcy Rutledge, a beloved wife, daughter, mother, and grandmother, was called to her eternal resting place on June 21, 2023. Born on April 13, 1972, in Columbus, KS, Marcy was the cherished daughter and apple of Mary Carpenter.

Marcy embarked on her life's journey, graduating from Daniel Webster High School in 1990, where she laid the foundation for her future successes and lifelong friendships. Following graduation, Marcy began working as a dental assistant, which she did for several years. In 1991, Marcy gave birth to her first son, Jake Del Ray Scott. In 1995, Marcy gave birth to her second son, Jace Ray Scott. Marcy would say her boys fulfilled her heart more than imaginable. Being their mother was her greatest blessing from God.

She met her husband, Johnny, at a friendly poker game, and their connection blossomed into a deep and lasting love. Marcy and Johnny exchanged their vows on July 6, 2006, in Tulsa, and their union became an enduring testament to love and commitment. Together, Marcy and Johnny built a successful business, R&R Home Repairs, where Marcy worked alongside her husband for 15 years until her recent retirement. Marcy was known for her strong will and diligent work ethic, which she poured into every project. However, her true passion lay in caring for all people, especially the elderly, demonstrating her kind and nurturing nature. Her acts of kindness and unconditional love touched the lives of many.

She had a dramatic spirit that brought joy and laughter to those around her, and her family always felt engulfed in her unwavering love. She will be remembered for standing by her beliefs regardless of what anyone thought. She was never afraid to speak her mind, truly a kind loving soul that wanted the best for everyone. Marcy found solace in travel, particularly to Mexico, and had a green thumb that bloomed beautifully in her gardening endeavors. She cherished the "Lake Life" on Lake Eufaula, where she found serenity from the sunsets and pleasure in fishing. She loved capturing the sunsets over the bridge in pictures, leaving us many to treasure.

Affectionately known as Nah Nah to her adoring grandchildren, Marcy found immense joy in their presence. Their love and laughter filled her heart with immeasurable happiness. She also shared a special bond with her faithful companion, her dog Pearl, who brought her comfort and companionship this year.

Left to cherish Marcy's memory is her husband, Johnny Rutledge. She will forever be remembered as a loving and nurturing mother to her children, Jake and Jace Scott. Additionally, she will also be remembered as a caring stepmother to Brandi and Scott Phillips; Johnna and Brandon James; and Johnny and Sydney Rutledge. Marcy's legacy lives on through her precious grandchildren, Jaxton Scott; Bella, Elli, and Tinley James; Hudson Phillips; and Rhett and Ava Rutledge.

Marcy also leaves behind her dear mother, Mary Carpenter, and her beloved sister, Teresa Hall, and husband Steve. She was a loyal loving aunt to her niece, Brook Hinton, and husband Brian. Marcy was preceded in death by her mother-in-law Nan Rutledge, grandson, Pierce Phillips, and her niece, Bryttni Ward.

Marcy Rutledge's life was a testament to love, dedication, and strength. She will be deeply missed by all those whose lives she touched. May her soul find eternal peace, and may her memory forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
