Mamie Churchill passed into eternal life with her Savior on January 26, 2013 at the age of 85. She was born May 26, 1927 in the Wilson community. She lived all her life in the Okmulgee area. Mamie was saved at the age of eight and was a member of Southside Baptist Church for over 60 years, teaching children’s Sunday school for many years. Married to James Churchill for 66 years and had two sons Rickie and Larry. In addition to being a wonderful wife and mother she worked as an Avon representative for 26 years winning numerous president’s awards. She also worked at Okmulgee High School for 15 years. Preceded in death by husband James, son Larry, parents Monroe and Cleo Murray, sisters Lorene Biddle and Gladys Goad. Survived by son Rick and wife Nancy of Lewisville, TX, granddaughter Abbie and husband Matt Conway of Katy, TX, great grandchildren Brendan and Kelsey Conway of Katy, TX, two nephews and two nieces. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Family will greet friends Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home in Okmulgee. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday February 1, 2013 at the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home in Okmulgee with Brother Ron Crews officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Okmulgee Cemetery under the direction of the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home in Okmulgee. Pallbearers will be Don Goad, Ronnie Lucas, Scott Lucas, Mike Sanders, Steve Sanders and Duane Gordon.
