Lydia Ellen Reichert of Tulsa passed away Sunday August 9th at age 82. Lydia was born in Denver, CO to Aaron and Lydia Thornsby. She was preceded in death by her husband Warren, her parents and two children Martin and Lydia Dorothy. She married Warren Reichert on November 11, 1960 in Denver, Colorado.
Throughout her life she enjoyed sports, the outdoors, cooking and family events. An avid fisherman she often talked about returning to Colorado and the trout streams she enjoyed so much. After retirement from Southwestern Bell she loved working in the yard and enjoyed bird watching. She kept an Oklahoma Bird Book by her window and would try to identify all the birds at the bird feeders. But her greatest fulfilment and achievements came in the form of her family. She was a great cook and communicated her love to people through the meals she fixed.
Lydia is survived by two sisters, Ronnie Fugita and Diane Troxler, three children, nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and countless friends around the country. Though she is missed her legacy of kindness and hospitality lives on. Even in the assisted living home the care givers often commented about her infectious smile.
