Loretta Sloan

Loretta Ann "De" Sloan, a resident of Okmulgee, passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at the age of 80. She was born August 1, 1931 to Harber and Betty (McHenry) Johnson in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Okmulgee. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harber and Betty Johnson; husband, Jack Sloan; daughter, Kim Sloan; son, David Sloan; grandson, Simon Sloan; three sisters, Carol Neido, Betty Neal and Patsy Ruth Wahnee and two brothers, Bo and Cy Johnson. Survivors include her two daughters, DeeAnn Denney and husband Ken of Crosby, TX and Kay Sloan of Okmulgee; three sisters, Dorothy Ticheahkie of Lawton, Charlene Nevaquaya of Lawton and Darlene Robertson of Oakland, CA; two brothers, Ed Johnson of Norman and Keeper Johnson and wife, Martha of Morris; eight grandchildren, Melissa Denney, Andria Flowers, David Lee Sloan, Michael Sloan, Sheldon Sloan, Ryan Johnson, Tanna Mills and Kelly Johnson; five great grandchildren, Shayleigh Sloan, Layne Sloan, Jase Flowers, Jude Ginn and Lola Ginn and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 21, 2012 at the Belvin Baptist Church in Okmulgee with Reverend Keeper Johnson officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Okmulgee Cemetery under the direction of the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home in Okmulgee. Pallbearers will be Anthony Sample, Mekko Riley, Bosco Wahnee, Keeper Johnson, Jr., Roger Johnson and Bobby Ellis. Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home in Okmulgee.
