Lonnie Douglas Jeffries, of Glenpool, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at the age of 71, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Lonnie was born on October 31, 1953, in Jay, Oklahoma, to Betty Reece, and he spent his life dedicated to family, faith, and service.
Lonnie's love for his family was exemplified by his 48-year marriage to Mickey Sue Jeffries. They were married on November 29, 1974, and later renewed their vows on April 28, 1984. Together, they shared a life full of love, laughter, and devotion. Lonnie's wife, Sue, preceded him in death, joining him now in Heaven.
A man of strong faith, Lonnie was an ordained minister for over 35 years, leading many through his ministry and missions. His commitment to serving others extended beyond the pulpit, as he also dedicated his professional career to the medical field. After graduating from Boise State University with a degree in Applied Science, he worked for more than 40 years in the medical industry, specializing in medical equipment, particularly CT and X-ray machines.
In addition to his work and ministry, Lonnie had a deep love for music. An avid guitar player, he could often be found playing for his children, grandchildren, and church. His love of bluegrass music, old westerns, and his favorite TV show, Walker, Texas Ranger, was something that brought him great joy, as did the many moments spent with his family.
Lonnie was preceded in death by his mother, Betty; brothers, Randy, Joe, and Wesley; and his beloved wife, Sue. He leaves behind a legacy of love and faith, cherished by his family and friends.
He is survived by his son Darin and wife Carol, their children Chelsea, Chandler, and Noah; son Dustin and wife Gina, and their children, Jesse, and Kelsi; his brother Rowdy and wife Vicki, and their children; his brother Mike and wife Tanya, and their children; as well, David, (Darin and Dustin's Brother) and wife Shauna, former daughter-in-law, Sherry, and her and David's children, Morgan, Madison, and Meredith, and former daughter-in-law, Leigh, and her and Dustin's son, Mason. He also leaves behind many dear friends, extended family, and great-grandchildren who will continue to hold his memory close.
