Lonita Noteware

Lonita Marcine Noteware age 90 passed away on Monday, September 28, 2015 at her Tulsa residence.

Lonita was born in Weir, Kansas on December 28, 1924 to Oliver and Nell Mezel. Her family moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma soon after her birth, where she remained a lifetime resident of Tulsa County. She graduated from Will Rogers High School with the Class of 1942. Lonita married Alvin Noteware after World War II and gave birth to her son, Carson and her daughter, Diana.

Lonita worked in the medical field as an office assistant until she retired to take care of her husband who was in failing health. She loved working with youth organizations, PTA, Girl Scouts and booster clubs. She was active in Lions' Tamers and Lions' Club in the Tulsa area. One of her greatest honors was being selected as the "Citizen of the Year" in Glenpool for her work in establishing the police and firefighter memorial.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Alvin, her son, Carson, her granddaughter, Mary and a great granddaughter, Annaston.

Lonita is survived by her daughter Diana and husband, Mike Mattox, grandson Michael Noteware and wife Susan, granddaughter Shelly and husband Gary Wallace, grandson Michael and wife Linda Mattox, grandson Mark Mattox, daughter in-law, Teresa Noteware, granddaughter, Rachel and husband Michael Matheney, granddaughter Jessica and husband Bob Ballinger, granddaughter Karey and husband, Josh Fuller, brother in-law Bob and wife Dorothy Noteware, very special friends Stella and Wayne Neal, many great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and other family members and friends.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Glenpool Fraternal Order of Police Carson Noteware Lodge #133 Fraternal Order of Police or Lions Club Eye Bank.

Visitation is 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon on Friday, October 2, 2015 at Schaudt's Funeral Service, Glenpool, Oklahoma.

Graveside services are 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 2, 2015 at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Chaplain Merle Newton will officiate.
