Lola Jean Conway, 68, of Gore, OK, passed away Friday, November 17, 2017, in Broken Arrow, with her family at her side.
She was the wife of Wesley Conway. They were married on March 27, 1985, at the Cheyenne First Baptist Church in Cheyenne, OK.
Lola was born in Sacramento, CA on July 15, 1949, a daughter of Doris (Whorton) Skidmore and the late Carl Skidmore.
She had different career paths during her life, but the most recent was a Homemaker. Lola enjoyed many hobbies mostly centered around gardening as well as arts and crafts, such as scrapbooking and crocheting. She also enjoyed genealogy, antiquing and had a large collection of Nutcrackers. Her favorite time of the year is now upon us, she loved everything about Christmas, from decorating, cooking, but most of all spending time with her family. Lola also enjoyed reading. She had a particular interest in suspense novels by authors like James Patterson, Nora Roberts, and Dean Koontz. She loved movies and binge-watching period dramas on television. Lola absolutely adored her grandchildren. She could often be found out gathering flowers, painting rocks or playing on the floor with them when they were around.
Lola is preceded in death by her father, Carl, and brother, Ronald Skidmore.
She leaves many loving memories with her family, husband, Wesley; two sons, Aaron Hood and wife Heather, and Jared Hood and wife Kris; two step-daughters, Leslie Conway and Ramona Rhodes; a step-son, Monte Conway; a brother, Roy Skidmore; half-brothers, Charles Parkhurst, Jr., Austin Parkhurst, Mark Parkhurst; half-sister, Sue Bachelor; 3 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 5 step-great-grandchildren; as well as many other loving relatives and a host of friends.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1pm on December 1, 2017 at Schaudt’s Tulsa Funeral Home, with Andrew Sanders officiating. Private family inurnment will take place on a later date at Memorial Park Cemetery Tulsa, OK.
