Lois Jean Matthews

Lois Jean Matthews, 90, formerly of Lake Jackson, passed away Tuesday, October 24, 2017 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Lois was born May 22, 1927 in Stockton, Kansas. She was the daughter of Ruth (Culter) Muir and Andrew Muir.

She attended Girard High School in Kansas. In 1961, Lois married Jimmie Matthews in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

She was a Christian and a member of the Daughters of American Revolution (DAR).

Lois enjoyed baking, her specialty being pineapple upside down cake. She was also very talented with needle point, liked to read and was a huge cat lover.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth (Culter) Muir and Andrew Muir; and her husband, Jimmie Matthews.

Survivors include two daughters, Nanette Bugg of Owasso, OK, and Susan Fields of Kiefer, OK; three sons, Charles Driesbach of Galveston, TX, Steven Matthews and his wife, Ann of Denver, CO, and Scott Matthews and his wife, Donna of New Braunfels, TX.

Graveside service will be held November 11, 2017 at 1 PM at Restwood Memorial Park, Clute, TX.
