Logan Willard Sims passed with peace on Oct. 3, 2017 in his 84th year.
He was the son of Venus Lorene (Logan) and Oscar Amos Sims (owner of OA Well Services)
Logan was a long time resident of Okmulgee, OK. He was born in Okmulgee County on Dec. 21, 1932.
Logan married the love of his life, Dorothy Ann Wiles on December 24, 1951 in Beggs, Oklahoma.
Logan is survived by his wife Dorothy, three children: Nancy Rue Freeman of Muskogee, Paula Sue Sims of Snohomish, WA, and Mark Edward Sims Sr. of Morris, OK, 7 grandchildren, 10 great grand children, cousins Gene Sims and Billy Sims both of Okmulgee OK.
Logan retired from the US Air Force where he served in the Korean and Vietnam wars. Following retirement Logan taught at Spartan School of Aeronautics and Tulsa Technology Center preparing students for their A&P license. Logan also served as an FAA and airframe inspector.
Logan was an animal lover caring for farm animals in his school days and raising Labrador Retrievers in his retirement years. An avid fisher and outdoorsman Logan enjoyed time spent with his children and grandchildren.
Logan and Dorothy are members of the 2nd Baptist Church where Logan taught Sunday School for teenage youth.
Visitation will be 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at Schaudt's Okmulgee Funeral Service Chapel in Okmulgee, OK. Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held 11:00 AM on Friday, October 6, 2017 at Okmulgee Cemetery in Okmulgee, OK. Steve Gallagher, Pastor of Second Baptist Church will officiate.
