Lionel Spears was born July 22, 1952 to Azzilee and Scotty Spears. He was the first of six children. Lionel graduated from Mary Bethune High School in Marksville, LA. Lionel also graduated from Job Corps. Afterwards he served several years in the Army and National Guard. He married Antoinette Williams in 1969 and they moved to Tulsa. In this union they had two children, Lionel Spears, Jr. and Lillie Spears. Lionel was employed as a tire specialist and he also worked as a machine operator. He resided in Florida for several years and returned to Tulsa. He enjoyed life, family and friends. He loved cooking on the grill and he also loved playing the drums. He accepted Christ at an early age at Zion Baptist Church in Louisiana and later in life he joined New Life Christian Center where he served faithfully until he was called home. His Christian sisters and brothers at New Life were his second family. He was preceded in death by his father, Scotty Spears, his daughter Lillie Spears, and brother, Emanuel Spears. He leaves behind to mourn; his mother, Azzilee Spears, two brothers, Henry and Tony Spears, two sisters, Susann Armstead and Debra Spears, two sisters in law, Lillie and Rose, two aunts Mae Pearl Johnson and Georgia Williams from Louisiana a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
