Today we celebrate the homegoing of Linda Kay Woods (Hunter). She was born December 1st, 1949, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to her parents, Georgia and Samuel Hunter who preceded her in death. Linda accepted Christ at an early age while attending Greater Union Baptist Church.
Linda departed life on 14th June 2021. She leaves behind two son's, Traland McCamey and Monte McCamey, to cherish her memory, two grandchildren Aundre McCamey and Eliya McCamey, siblings Pamela Blake and Roy Hunter, as well as a host of other relatives, cousins, friends, and classmates.
Her formal education began in Tulsa, Oklahoma where she graduated from Booker T. Washington high school in 1967. She later attended Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma and graduated from Northwestern University in Alva, Oklahoma obtaining a bachelor's degree in Sociology.
Linda accomplished many things in life. She worked for Tulsa Juvenile Bureau of Tulsa for several years. She also worked with CASA, where she implemented several programs here in Tulsa, Virginia, and Scotland. After retiring she worked for Union Public Schools for 14 years. We would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all that you have done to help Linda in her final days. We greatly appreciate all the efforts you have put in to being there for her and making sure she was taken care of.
The family wishes to acknowledge with deepest appreciation the many comforting messages, other tributes, prayers, and other comforting expressions of kindness.
Life Lives On
Those we love to remain with us forever, for love itself lives on and cherished memories never fade because a love one is gone. Those we love can never be more than a thought apart. For as long as there is memory, they will live on in our hearts.
