Linda Gayle Galloway age 65 passed away Thursday, June 26, 2014 at her home in Tulsa with her sister, husband, daughter, and one great-niece at her side. She was born January 5, 1949 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to Jack and Lennie Rice (both deceased). She graduated from Muskogee Central High School in 1967, studied vocal music at Oklahoma City University for 3 years as a Gamma Phi Beta member, then graduated from Northeastern State College (now Northeastern State University) with a BA in Secondary Speech Education in 1973.
Linda was passionate as an amateur singer, award-winning actor, and author of short stories, plays, and novels, none of which she tried to publish commercially. She is survived by her husband, Robert Galloway, daughter Amy Powell and husband James, sister Kathleen Rau, and granddaughter Shayla Powell. Another sister, Jackie, preceded her in death.
Linda's fun and outgoing presence will be sorely missed by her family and friends, but fond memories of her and her positive impact on our lives will remain with us forever.
Linda chose to donate her body to scientific research to help others, followed by cremation and scattering of her ashes at a later date. If desired, a charitable donation in her name to your choice of organizations researching psoriatic arthritis or pancreatic cancer would be most appropriate.
