Leonard Warder, Jr.

Leonard Warder, Jr. age 79 passed away Thursday, April 7, 2016 at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma surrounded by his loving family members.

Born March 22, 1937 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Leonard was the son of the late Leonard Warder, Sr. and Hazel (Adams) Warder. He graduated from Little Kansas High School. At the age of 19 on May 23, 1956 he enlisted in the United States Air Force and proudly served his country. Leonard was honorably discharged as an Airman First Class on March 4, 1962 in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Leonard loved working on cars, baseball (especially the Texas Rangers), airplanes and frequently attended air shows.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Hazel Warder; wife, Maxine Louise Warder (May 6, 2013); six brothers; three sisters; and his daughter, Sondra Warder.
Leonard is survived by his three sons Johnny Smith, Frank Smith and Leonard Allen Warder and his wife, Mara; daughter, Melissa Henderson and her husband, Forrest; sister, Mary Ruth; grandchildren, Tori Foster, Laci Henderson, Michiko Henderson, Michael Warder, Ashley Warder, Jessica Grupp; great grandchild, Jade Warder along with other family members, friends and acquaintances.

Military graveside services are 12:00 noon Monday, April 11, 2016 at Fort Gibson National Cemetery, 1423 Cemetery Road, Fort Gibson, Oklahoma. Chaplain Larry Johnson, Major (USAF/Retired) will officiate.
