Leon Joseph Ast Sr.,84, passed through the gates of heaven on August 31, 2018, at his home in Morris, Oklahoma. He was born on September 26, 1933, in Cheney, KS to his parents, Richard Ast and Martha Ast. He met the love of their life, Wanda Ast, and they had been married for over 40 years. Leon and Wanda had a blended family of 12 children, 31 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. He was a hard-working man who was a man of few words. His actions spoke of his love towards his family. He worked as an engineer/machinist. He loved to laugh, playing pranks on all his grandchildren and spending time with his family. His wife Wanda was his heart and soul he lived to make her happy. Leon leaves a legacy of love and honor. His word was golden. He is the patriarch of his family. He will be missed greatly.
Survived by his Wife Wanda Ast, Sister Geri Wood, brother Louie Ast and James Ast.
He is proceeded in death by his father Richard Ast, mother Martha Ast, brother Dennis Ast, sisters Rosie Wilkin and Marge Schmidt.
Viewing and visitation will be 2:00 PM 6:45 PM at Schaudt's Funeral Service Chapel in Okmulgee with a Rosary Service to follow at 7:00 PM.
A Funeral Mass will be held at the St. Anthony's Catholic Church (515 S Morton Ave, Okmulgee, OK 74447) at 10:00 AM with an interment to follow at Morris Cemetery.
