Leo Melvin Rodebush age 79 passed away Friday, September 17, 2012 at The Gardens nursing facility in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. Leo was born March 2, 1933 in Bristow, Oklahoma to Ralph and Minnie Ruth (Munns) Rodebush. He grew up on a farm northeast of Shamrock, Oklahoma and he attended schools in Drumright. Leo served in the United States Army as part of the Occupation Force and was stationed in Germany. On February 21, 1953 he married the love of his life, Marie Clark. They were married for fifty-seven years before her death in May of 2011. Leo lived in Glenpool area for over fifty years. He worked as a route salesman, service station owner, City of Glenpool employee and painted houses in the area well into his seventies. He was known as "Poppy" to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was good at spoiling them and very proud of each one. Leo was preceded in death by his parents: Ralph and Ruth Rodebush, his brother, Leon, and his loving wife, Marie Ann Rodebush. He is survived by his children Ed Rodebush and his wife, Gayle of Eufaula, Doug Rodebush and his wife, Carol of Mannford, Kim Dobson of Haskell and fianc' Larry Cole of Haskell, his brother, Eldon Rodebush of Drumright, his six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, other family members along with friends and acquaintances. The family would like to thank The Gardens Nursing Home and Life Journey Hospice for their care of Leo in his final weeks. As Leo took his last breath he was not alone. Carol was with him and held him, telling him it was all right to go to Marie. No words are worthy to explain the love the family has for a special Angel of Mercy such as Carol. Visitation 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at Schaudt's Glenpool Funeral Service. Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at First Baptist Church, Glenpool. Oklahoma. Jack Carner and Joe Carner will officiate. Interment will take place at Shamrock Cemetery, Shamrock, Oklahoma. Pallbearers are Matt Rodebush, Josh Rodebush, Nathan Dobson, Rick McCoy, Danny Dobson and Terry Rodebush. Honorary pallbearers are Tommy Smith and Jason Buck. Arrangements were entrusted to Daniel C.
