Leila Jane Beaver, 64, was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on April 14, 1959. She was a resident of Lawrence, Kansas and passed away on Thursday, April 27, 2023.
Preceded in death by her parents, William and Blanche Beaver.
Survivors include five sisters, Della Walking Sky, Anita Beaver Daney, Reta Brewer and husband Richard, Karen Geyer, and Terri Beaver. Other survivors include four nieces, four nephews, one great-niece, one great-nephew, and numerous family members and friends.
Leila graduated from Morris High School in 1977. She received her associate degree from Haskell Indian Junior College and earned a bachelor's and master's degree in social work from the University of Kansas.
Leila was an excellent athlete and played independent women's fastpitch softball and basketball. Leila enjoyed watching sports, especially the Kansas Jayhawks, Kansas City Chiefs, and OU Softball. One of her hobbies was sewing Seminole patchwork. Leila worked for the federal government for thirty years plus. She started with the federal government at Haskell Indian Junior College and was currently employed with Social Security Administration, Kansas City Region, until her death.
Leila was a very caring person and loved giving her time to everyone, especially her nieces and nephews.
