Lavon Louetta Wise, a devoted mother, dedicated worker, and faithful believer, peacefully departed from this world on September 26, 2023, in Jenks, Oklahoma. She was born on January 13, 1934, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to the loving embrace of Lester Gabbard and Myrtle Gower. Lavon was the embodiment of love, faith, and hard work throughout her remarkable life.


Lavon's unwavering faith in God was a guiding light in her life. She was a devout follower of her faith, finding solace and strength in her beliefs. Her faith was not only a source of personal comfort but also a guiding force that inspired those around her.


Lavon was a loving and nurturing mother who poured her heart into her family. She cherished every moment spent with her family, creating a warm and loving home where memories were cherished.


In her professional life, Lavon was a dedicated and hardworking individual. For 15 years, she lent her skills and determination to the assembly line at Frank W. Murphy. Her strong work ethic and commitment were evident in her years of service.


Lavon is survived by her sons, Steven Ethridge and Albert Harless, along with their families, who will forever carry her memory in their hearts. She is also survived by her brother, Lewis Greg Gabbert, and his family.


Lavon was preceded in death by her husband, William Eugene Wise, in 2015, reuniting with him after years apart. She joins her parents, Lester Gabbard and Myrtle Gower, in eternal rest. She also reunites with her sister, Blanche Paula Ryan, and her daughters, Barbara Ann Harless and Ruth Ellen Black, who preceded her in passing.


Lavon Louetta Wise touched the lives of many with her love, devotion, and unwavering faith. She will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will forever shine as a beacon of love, faith, and hard work in the hearts of those who loved her.


Lavon's legacy of love and devotion will live on in our hearts, inspiring us to live with faith, love, and dedication just as she did. Rest in peace, dear Lavon, for your love and light will forever brighten our lives.


Visitation will be held Sunday, October 1, 2023 from 2:00pm-5:00pm at Schaudt's Tulsa Funeral Service, 5757 South Memorial Drive, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74145. Graveside services will be held 2:00pm, Monday, October 2, 2023 at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5111 South Memorial Drive. Tulsa, Oklahoma 74145.
